Production of Reactive Alumina from Domestic Sources and Its Use in Alumina-Based Self-Flowing Castable Refractories

High-quality alumina raw materials allow corundum-based brick and monolithics to perform the full potential of as a refractory material. Dense packing matrix submicron range reduction water demand castables can be facilitated by new family multimodal reactive alumina. Dispersing aluminas ensure uniform mixing dispersion setting adjustment additives. In this study, fine powder production was investigated using Bayer gibbsite starting Experimental studies consist two steps; in first step, soda content reduced means boric acid distilled then powders obtained optimum conditions were ground an attritor ball mill for 8 hours. second physical characteristics such rheological behaviours, bulk density, open porosity thermal shock resistance, bending compressive strength fracture toughness accordance with ASTM E399 standard determined. Finally, KIC values samples which prepared produced from Seydişehir higher than that mixture containing commercial company.
